What You See, Is What You Get

What You See, Is What You Get

What you see, is what you get,
or so most people think, when they place their bet.
No one takes consideration for my pain,
only caring for their own gain.
No one cares if I shed another tear,
for when I do, they let out another cheer.

What you get, is what you see,
nothing worth anything, just plain ol' me.
Fighting this depression, for all I'm worth,
trying to figure out the point of my birth.
Desperatly seeking someone to love,
hopefully sent, from up above.

What you see, is what you get,
the most pathetic girl you've ever met.
A hopeless loser, who hasn't got a clue,
run away fast, before you get blue.
A small town brat, nothing less and nothing more,
being my friend will be a chore.

What you get, is what you see,
so run away fast, and you shall be free.
Not bothered by my fears,
just forgetme through the years.
Don't worry if I cry,
for saying you're sorry, would be a lie.

What you see, is what you get,
the stone is carved and the mortar set.
You can hate this hick town girl,
for just giving this life a whirl.
Or you can be my friend, and help me believe,
that perhaps, one day, this depression might leave.

What you see is what you get, though you'd best look thoroughly. More ways of seeing a person than the physical. Too many people don't check the inner person though, which sucks. Some people it takes a lot of searching, some, like me, it's pretty easy. For example, ya get a toothpick man with a bad temper, end of story :P Good write though.

Great write! You have a beautiful way of making a point and painting a picture.
The piece had great rythm and it wasn't distracting in the least bit.
I think that thing that I loved the most about this piece was the fact that you would go from saying 'What you see, is what you get' to saying 'What you get, is what you see'. I think that that was pure originality.
A very emotional write.

Peace,
NightsShade

What you see is what you get

Don't bother looking for more
As people do not become gold.

That was me summing up the poem (without rhyming) I loved it; a very thoughful poem telling the reader what try to get more as your never going to. Be happy with what you have

Oh I can see the pain ,but i Can see lots of beauty in these words..
What You See,Is What You Get..no one feels the pain,no one cares for the tears
Nothing worth ,its always plain old me..Fighting life for all I am worth.Trying to see why ever I was birthed
Seeking some love ,heavenly ,from above..I Dont See A pathetic Girl.I dont see A loser..I have All The Clues
I will Not Run Away and I will Not feel The Blues..A young Town Brat,Times being like hell for her
Dont want to run away ,Dont want to be free..I Like To Feel Your Fears..I will Worry A lot If You Cry
I Can See You Are A fighter..I will Not Say Sorry and its Not A lie..I could never hate This girl
Her Life Is So Real,Even If a whirl..I can Be Your Friend ,I will Help Make You Believe
what lovely write ,so strong ,I swear ,you are a fighter ,you may falter a little..but get up
Its not for you To defeat,I can see strength Under that skin..Come with me..We will fight Together

it is a very dark and sombre picture you paint .the poem speaks of a very alert and creative mind but the message speaks of despair . the people of this world can be so wonderful if you give them a chance .its true , there are those who revel in dishing out misery but there are so many more who , given an opportunity ,will fly to your aid in times of need . you ended the poem on a positive note , seeking a friend . on here you have many , i sure hope you are as giving with your friendship because you have it in you to be very very special .
