Holy diver

Holy diver

A Poem by Justin Street

I’m what they call
Scourge of the sky
From clouds I fall
Don’t ask why

No matter blood and gore
I am the survivor
Through Carnage I soar
The holy diver

Blazing wings beat
All battles halted
Feeling disapproving heat
Shining light, exalted

Wave of judgment flows
To Hell I am your driver
I am your pain and woe
The holy diver

Author's Note

Justin Street
I got this idea from a song by dio called "holy diver", but to make it clear i just used the name. I have completely morphed the name to this image.
The significance of "holy diver" is that of some entity (angel/demon) diving down through the clouds to end the world of man.

This, in one word, was- Epic. The diction was strong, yet simple, and the imagery was vivid, and breath-taking. The tone of this poem echoes in the readers mind, wonderful wonderful job! I love the last two lines "I am you pain and woe/ The holy diver" I may quote you in something eventually, one day. :P I hope you do't mind haha

Sounds like a warning to say don't mess with me or you will regret it. I like the serious tone to the poem and the words work well together. I can see how it can relate to something religious as a devil coming down from the clouds to end the world of man. Gets me thinking about the end of the world in 2012 sort of thing. But I don't want to believe it though

This is awesome. The last stanza alone is enough to make me say so.

This is great- it left me with a weird image but I think that's what the whole point of it was, lmao.

I liked it. For some reason the image of a fallen angel came to my mind when I read this. Also the song by Dio is a great song!
