Redeem

Redeem

A Poem by Brave New World

It rained so hard, it felt like hail

I asked myself if it was the sound of my coffin’s last nail

Darkness demanded a forever night

All the people around me told me I was right

While my friends lived in eternal delight

I couldn’t hear a sound that told me of light

Give me something worth living for

Give me anything worth me to adore

Anything worth more than minute’s passion

They talk of light at the end of the tunnel

Yet I only see train after train

 No sight of a derail

It rained so hard, it felt like hail

All I have left is a better past

Poor me, I once thought it would last

Though...

Beyond the endless hail

Beyond a million nails

There still lay a sun

Telling me that maybe it’s not all done

Beyond the darkness of the abyss

Comes a happiness I know I miss

Hints come that eternal night was only a dream

Yet still…. I must redeem
