Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Krystal Thomas

When you wake up and feel the water up to your ankles;

Play a song that will release the plug and drain that water out.

This will be easy baby girl.

When it’s 2 in the afternoon and the water has crept its way up to your knees;

Go back to the days you were 5 and spent your entire summer at the beach.

This will make it a little easier baby girl.

When it’s 5 in the evening and the water has made it up to your chest;

Put on a life jacket because it’s raining harder than the streets can drain.

This won’t be easy baby girl.

When it’s midnight and the water is about to cover your mouth;

Take a deep breath and hold it.

Don’t let this kill you baby girl.

It’ll be easy again in the morning.

Great concept. If I were you, I'd spend a little time with this one. It's a gift to wind up with something that you can spend a little time with.
