Perfect Moment

Perfect Moment

A Poem by Alex P.
"

Describing the way I felt whilst I sat outside my school in November 09'

"

Streams of sunlight filter to me,

Through bare limbs of once-lush plants,

Through tines of still green pine,

Which glitter faintly with remnants of frost

And cobwebs

Sun shines warm against my face,

Wrapping about me with cloak-like protection

From the cold that bites at my bare hands

And neck

I sit here with nature’s peace,

Within the sleepless bustle of urbanization

Only I seem conscious of Sun’s embrace,

While others hurry from artificially warmed vehicles,

To the artificially warmed building,

Shocked by the nips I willingly endure

Below me,

A bed of pine needles

Disturbed only by remnants of humanity

Leaves upon some groundcover still endures,

Despite the late season,

Give contrast to the browns and golds

Of fallen leaves and cones

In this moment,

I am with Her,

Swathed in Sun’s light

Still when all else scurries by

In moments like these,

I am surrounded by peace

Makes me feel warm. Don't know that much about writing, but I liked it!
