Pretty BabyA Poem by K.S.78Pretty Baby K.S. 6/2013
I scream ‘You’re all I need’, and believe me
I’m not that kind of girl. Do you feel me
on my knees, or do you
think I’m pretending? Well you are
wrong, you were all along.
You hide your
rawness so well, but I’ll show you how to feel. I’m writing these cold words, falling deep,
alone again in this bed. The things you
need and want and don’t believe, keep me naked,
and without you.
You will make
it through this rain. I won’t make it through the pain
again. This is the start
of a brand new day. This is the
day I will surely go insane.
Now, my
self-esteem is not the same. Now, without
you my body blames, my mouth for
letting you go away. Now, far from
me, I am far from grace.
I can remember
my hands, warm again as
you play in my head. We are one I swear it’s got to be true.
I wonder where
I stand at, every night
when you see the sunset. Are you
nostalgic?
Do you pass judgment
as I stare, at you begging
with a hand of steel. I have no time
to argue. No not today,
your concern is tragic.
This is the
day that stupid went crazy. You were
always so pretty baby. . © 2013 K.S.78Featured Review
