I saw the light

a glimpse of truth

"I saw the light"

I saw the light

Was given great insight

Why did my demons stay?

When all I did was pray

They would go for a while

Then would return big style

Causing me pain and shame

Was I the one to blame?

Thoughts all day would clatter

Constant nonsense chatter

I turned to read Gods word

And this is what I heard

"You say you believe in me

It's you who won't set yourself free

Your constant doubting heart

Won't let these demons part

If your faith is as small as a mustard seed

There's nothing you do that won't succeed

When Peter walked on water he fell

His faith did falter him as well"

Since hearing God's word loud and clear

I have no more thoughts of fear

I've been uplifted, my faith is stronger

I have no time for demons no longer

I only believe in the heavenly good

The scriptures fill me up like food

Clear my head and make my heart swell

My faith alone has made me well

Just like Jesus said it would

The Lord is real, God is good

Just like the Apostle Thomas, who refused to believe that the resurrected Jesus had appeared to the ten other apostles, until he could see and feel the wounds received by Jesus on the cross; revelation of the truth says hidden longer for some than others. However, when the blessing is received it becomes the sweetest emotion. Very emotionally charged and exquisitely devotional poem! Bless you … :-)

So true Phil, the scriptures are an amazing reference point when looking for answers to troubles in your own life, it almost like God talking to you personally, same sometimes in a church the readings can feel so personal as if entirely for you a the time you need it most -thank you for thoughtful, wonderful review ;)
