The Arrival

The Arrival

A Poem by Charles Kadib
"

A purely experimental piece. Might get confusing though, so if you get lost the clue is: A B A B A B etc

"
Rowdier and Rowdier this oceans get
But in his house we're safe tonight
There was a time when we could bet
Our Future bright, we keep in sight
A future glorious as a sunset
But not unfazed, we keep the fight
Wrapped we were in cosy blankets
Courageous, we do not take flight
Drawing freely from bountious junkets
Our hope is sure, our rock is strong
Proclaiming an era of peace and bliss
His mind is pure, He's never wrong
But alas! Our view a Judas' kiss
Never again our life on lease
Churning, agitating, pondering; 'How did we miss?'
Cos from our sins we've been released
And now the fierce waves descend with a hiss
Now we're mightier
And we're lost, forever sunk
Soaring to greater heights
Resting at the bottom of a river bed...

About
I favour the subtle approach, tiny little details embedded in the work that finally become highly significant in the end..dont know why, maybe cos i like the little guys so much. more..
