on top of your truck
that november night
the moon was full
the night was young
we kissed in the backyard of my old Aunt's house
amoung the the roses but around the thorns
and my favorite song came on the radio
and we danced all night long

I thought I loved you
You thought I was the one
but you got drafted for the war
you said there was work to be done

You said
go and play

that song you loved so much on the night we met
pick some of those flowers from aunt sams backyard
call up the neighbors, but don't feel bad
if you find someone else while i'm gone
and maybe one day we'll see eachother again

years later you knocked on my door
Said you never stopped thinking about me while you were gone
I cried when you held out the ring in your hand
but I was happy and then you said

play that song you loved so much on the night we met
use some flowers from aunt sam's backyard
call up the neighbors, invite them to the wedding
and hopefully we'll be together forever

You started getting sick
I was scared to death
I was scared more than you
They took you in

It was cancer they said
they weren't sure if you would make it
but you tried to hold on
you tried to hold on

by your bed
crying softly, so you won't hear
not much time is what the doctor said
you're leaving me
your leaving me tonight

and then you turned your head and said
at my funeral play

This is an amazing poem. It's so beautiful and emotional. I love it. The love in this is so wonderful. I sorta started crying a little.
