Thirst

Thirst

A Poem by Kala Benfield

I thirst
I thirst for a love like that.
Yeah, just like that.
I tremble at the thought
A grace and a curse.
I thirst
With perfect hands,
I still can’t grasp yours
You know how to close doors.
With my tongue submersed
I thirst
You wear your heart so hard
My sleeves envy, green with jealous,
Not as hard, my heart calloused.
Something pure .
Struck & distraught
“I love you”’s so rehearsed.
I thirst
My mouth crippled & cold
Things so versed
The work was the worst... still
I thirst.

This is a wonderful feeling to have especially at the beginning of a relationship. That strong urge to "want" and 'need" someone.its a hunger that is never satisfied
