Angel Wings

Angel Wings

A Poem by Zakkarias Astrophel

Every time you look at me
Every time you say to me
        “Try it just one time”
You’re burning off my angel wings
Burning off my angel wings

Every time you look me in the eye
And tell me that it’s okay to lie
That it’s okay to fight
You’re burning off my angel wings
Burning off my angel wings

And it burns me to the core
So don’t come here anymore
And say those things to me
‘Cause I will always be
Down on bended knee
Praying for you

I get down on my knees
Trying to keep my purity
I hope that God will seem
Fit to forgive me
For the burn marks on my angel wings
The burn marks on my angel wings

As God looks down on me
And sees my angel wings
He says,” Son, I forgive thee
For the marks on your angel wings

Now every time you look at me
Now every time you say to me
“Try it just one time”
I can look you in the eye
And say….
“You can’t burn me”

And he feels me to the core
With purity and more
Cause He healed my Angel wings
And for you He’ll do these things
Cause I’m praying for you
