feeling the loss...

 

 

we used to awe at dazzling arrays

of brilliant color each end of day

then wish upon the first spied star

that in this life we would go far

that is where our dreams began

side by side...hand in hand

i never thought that you would end

screaming sirens...silent pen

and the church bells somber toll

why did you think you had to go

did i miss a heartfelt plea

the thought...it brings me to my knees

i love you now as i did when

always...my forever friend

without your light each passing day
