Breath

Breath

"You'll feel guilty that you're still breathing."--Tessa Shaffer, Heaven Has No Regrets

Bullies, the lot of them.

Compliments don't come easy

Or they don't come at all,

But more often than not,

They simply don't come.

Work is always done wrong

And speech is never simple.

Words are windows to the soul

And mistakes are purposeful.

In the world of these bullies,

Up is not up,

Right is not right,

And Left is a world.

Down is special,

That's where I am

Down is always down.

"Work or don't live.

What is life if not work?

What is work if not obsession?"

So life is obsession?

"Feel 'sorry' or don't say it.

Show remorse or don't feel it.

What is remorse without sin?

What is sin if not intent?"

"Live life fully or don't live.

See with your entire body or be blind.

Breath through your skin or don't breath.

What am I if not the earth?

What is the earth if not me?

What is the atmosphere if not breath?"

"What have I done?"

"Nothing at all..."
