The Tale Of Dorian Gray

The Tale Of Dorian Gray

A Poem by Kate Henderson

The face no one can forget
Behind his beauty lies a hideous secret
A Faustian pact he will live to regret
Living in debauchery and vice
Whole existence is a web of lies
The whole world he had once stood to win
Had he not chosen the path of sin
An angel on the outside
But the monster lives within
Decrepit and old
As is the picture
Burns the soul to ash
No longer can he hide the truth
Of the portrait in the attic
Haunting him to the death

And that is the tale of Dorian Gray

You're welcome. My all time favorite actor is Ben Barnes and he plays Dorian Gray in the movie :D

Ben Barnes did well as Dorian, but I definitely prefer the book to the movie!

I didn't get the chance to read the book but I want to :)
I saw this and thought "Yes! Something based off Oscar Wilde!" Sure enough, this poem did not disappoint. Nice job keeping to the spirit of the novel!
