The Aftermath

The Aftermath

A Poem by Kate Henderson

Drink deep in the cave of wonders
For those who seek eternity
May have forever
Midnights majestic
Across the fire light
Can sing the sirens to your doom
The fear of the unknown
In the deep colossal depths
Of rock and sand
Thoughts of hidden secrets
Lie close at hand
Forged from the ashes of
Your darkest nightmare
Calls the witch hounds
Of the Ancient times
Who ruled the lands
The cave is waiting
For those who choose to
Venture into its uncharted path
What will you find
But the secrets of
Your own destiny
Leaving the remnants of
The Aftermath

I enjoyed the style with which you wrote this piece a good bit. You definitely have lots of imagery here that fits in perfectly with the theme you've given this. My only recommendation is too make sure that you're double checking how one line expands from the previous line and leads into the next. The fragmented approach to this piece works some of the time, but other times, it's makes temporarily makes me lose track of what you're trying to say.

That being said, you've done just about everything else right here. The whimsically somber atmosphere here is definitely a nice touch. Keep on writing, and always aim to better yourself, and you could become a top tier writer someday! :) :) :) :)

I enjoyed this poem and I agree. We decide our journey. Good or bad. Our worst regret is. Never attempting things we wanted to accomplish. Thank you Kate for sharing the amazing poetry.
