Burning for You

Burning for You

A Poem by Kate P. Lamb
"

This has no affiliation with BÖC aside from the title

"

The way your eyes sear me,

With each silvery look you give,

They way your fingers scorch my skin,

With each feather-light touch,

I burn for you.

The way your lips curl into a smile,

Each time I say those three words,

And the emotion in your voice,

When you say them back

Sets my heart ablaze

I yearn for you.

Each memory of our time together,

That blissful summer

That seems so long ago

When we sat by the ice caves,

Or when I fell asleep in your arms

While nostalgic movies played

I ache for you.

The way you clutched me in the night,

Breathed my name into my ear,

While our desire reached frenzy,

And bruised us both with passion

I quake for you.

The way all that seemed a dream,

How they keep me from falling,

Into monotonous insanity

I count down the days

Until I’m dreaming again

I wait for you.

But you do light a fire in my heart with your love, Kate. I really like this one, it's passionate and strong, and the form is uniquely yours.
