Déjà Vu

Déjà Vu

A Poem by Kate P. Lamb
"

Sometimes I'm too curious for my own good...

"
Morbid curiosity draws my hand,
As if by unseen force
And with a single glance,
My carefully constructed barriers
Disintegrate as if never there

The words I read cause my heart to sink,
And my arms long to hold you,
Whisper that it'll be all right
Each word scribed within your verse
Like a lash upon my soul
As the memories flash behind my eyes

Each laugh, each caress
As if I'm living it again
My anger set my momentos alight
But could not scorch them from my mind

Every time I look around,
Something still reminds me of you
Your voice, your words
The way you held me at night
Seeped in so deeply as if it were a part of me

Then the pain comes again,
As I knew it would,
The mourning of what was
And could have been

I turn from your words
Eyes closed to force everything back
That is no longer my life
Nor will that imagined future ever be

Nothing can forgive what you did,
I won't let myself be that naïve
I still need to get past you it seems
Work harder at being happy
And scour clean the parts of you
That are also a part of me

Eyes closed to force everything back.
Well penned

That is so beautiful ... I was there ... i still afraid of words which will send me back to the pain , when my heart was bleeeding with no help ... I even afraid to watch pictures that will remind me on the sweet times .... I afraid of the memories ... I afraid they will be so real ... that the deep pain will come back ... again
