Parting WaysA Poem by Kate P. LambSometimes, people just don't clickTension
mounts between us, A pulsing,
violent thing, When I see
the way you look at me, It leaves me
trembling What we had
was wonderful, But will
never be again, Because no
matter how great you used to be, Now I can no
longer pretend So goodbye
to your smile, And singing
in the car, I hope we
can stay friends, But I have a
feeling you’ll stray too far As bad as we
left it, I’ll miss
you quite a lot, But as sad
as I am to say it Neither of
us is what the other sought © 2012 Kate P. Lamb |
