When the World Doesn't Care

When the World Doesn't Care

A Poem by Katelyn Barker

Sadness is what you feel
Anger makes you reel
Numb is your brain
People passing by thinking you are strange
No one cares about your life.
No one cares about the strife.
If you told them,
All of the spirit,
they'd never merit,
Because the world,
has shut them out
cut them off
makes them shout.
Nothing makes sense,
everything feels tense.
You ask,
Why the world surpasses pain
but all they care about is the rain
So you lift yourself ,
out of the dirt,
and make your world,
a world without hurt.

A dreamstate echoes at the end. Sometimes you just have to chance that a person WILL listen and treat you as being real.
