A Poem by Kathrine Rethorn
"

Life doesn't always hand you a perfect hand, but that wont keep you from playing a perfect game.

"
Daddy is home
Sissy is scared
Mommy is crying
Life isn't fair!

The door swings open
"Sissy go and hide!"
Mommy isn't looking
When Daddy strikes my eyes

With a face that's black and purple
I watch the setting sun
Sissy and Mommy went missing
Daddy has come and gone

Alone I sit in our house
Waiting for the day
That Mommy comes to find me
For Sissy to smile and play

The season cycled many times
Mommy never came
I never again saw my Sissy
Daddy claims I'm to blame

It's a mystery how I live
Through hell and high fire
So many cuts and bruises
Love is my only desire

Now, I've grown a lot since then
With a family of my own
A wife two girls and a boy
No bruises to be shown

Father had bad Habits
No one can deny
In all my Father helped me learn
How to better live this life
