Your Cold, Cold Desire

Your Cold, Cold Desire

A Poem by Katie Marie

My breath has become cold,
My tears of joys turned to ice.
My body has frozen,
And become paralyzed.

I should be the image of beauty,
The mother of new life,
But you're holding me back,
With hands made of ice.

And with your cold, cold desire
You have covered up the light,
And I beg you, dear Winter,
Let my golden eyes shine.

~Thoughts from a chilly Spring afternoon~

Totally suits my mood at the moment this one, Winter seems very prolonged this year, and is beginning to get me down. Most of all I am sick of having to wear such heavy clothing and being all bundled up to stay warm. I especially loved the last line in this. Lovely work. Bye for now. Trish.

I like the descriptions and the personification of winter, the idea you interact and can have a relationship with winter.

This will make a very nice nursery song if you put on Ryhmes in your stanzas. That's only an opinion.

I like the fact that this poem carries multiple meanings. One one hand it can be seen as a poem depicting how winter is compared to spring and summer. But it can also be seen as a hot love turned cold between lovers. Well done.
