A poem is a unique art, painted not with the colors of the rainbow, but with the color of words. A poet, like an artist, chooses his or her colors carefully, as to not mix the wrong ones and ruin the image. If a poet were to write, 'His eyes are dark blue.' it would not create the correct effect. The sentence needs some shading to blend the colors well. If a poet were to write, 'His eyes glimmer with the color of the dark ocean depths.' it would add much, much more, to the writer's artwork. A poet can take words, and, without being there in person, paint a flawless picture into the mind of the reader.
oh yes, poetic license is so wonderful, but...point taken, to paint with words is an art form which, when paired with words being music, becomes a work of lovingly crafted personal essence... very nice piece
Words have create fear and changed the world. Martin Luther King is a example of a man who used words to change a world. A writer who can speak his words with strength and beauty. Can steal the thoughts and pain away. No weakness in this amazing poem. Thank you.
