Heart’s Song

Sitting here in English class

Staring through unbroken glass,

Just thinking of things old and new.

Outside, the birds will fly

The clouds will open up and cry

But I’ve got better things to do

The horizon holds a spark of light,

An understanding just in sight

But you haven’t got a clue.

I smile ‘cause time ticks so fast

This long class just cannot last.
Moments like this come far and few.

The last bell begins to ring,

And my soul begins to sing,

I’ve been saving the lyrics for you.

Just a quick oneyeah, you're just putting me to shame. I love the image you paint in this poem, so peaceful and lasting. Let me not forget ambitions. The tone of the spirit is so heartwarming that it surprises me that you could just put it together in a flash. The detail to scenery is really good. Very nice write.

I love it! The rhyme scheme you used was flawless, and I really enjoyed the rhythm of the piece. The narrator seems to be waiting for something, and the last line makes feelings of love and kindness. Awesome job, Katie. :D

Cute. Almost like the narrator is waiting for class to end to go meet someone
