On a bridge.

On a bridge.

A Poem by Kay

i climb up the ramp

standing below the bridge lamp

all those speeding cars

even a slow kiss can kill.

staring down at the windshield

to which one will i yield

for it to crush my thoughts

like spilled porridge?

no one will clean the remains

i’ll fill the black flat veins

with my own life essence

turning cold under wheels.

a map for the others

who have been hurt by their lovers

and stand up tall

              to fall shortly into oblivion.
