The Truth

i wrote it for my friend =]

 

All I see is a guy in love;

And a girl who loves

To tease.

The love in his eyes is

 All that she needs

To know he’s wrapped

Around her finger.

 

She’s the keeper of his heart;

He thinks she loves him

Too.

But in the end

She’ll cut the strings

That he’s attached

Within her.

 

She looks to him

For attention,

She gets her fix

Off his chase.

She says he’s the perfect

Guy.

But why won’t she say

Yes?

 

She still won’t commit to him

She’s just in it for the game.

When she starts in . . .

She just views him as

Prey.

 

If he is happy

She tears him down.

Who could do such a thing?

I wish he could see

She’s not right

For him.

I want to protect his heart.

 

He’s such a gentle;

Sweet man,

Who deserves better

Than THAT.

That thing . . . the one,

Who will rip out his heart.

 

And she won’t even care,

For that is what

She lives for.

I like this piece. I know people who are like the girl your narrator speaks of in this poem. I went to high school with several girls who behaved that way to their boy friends. Everything stated in your poem certainly holds true.
