Taint my Blue Eyes Green

Taint my Blue Eyes Green

A Poem by kera moondust
"

envy. It's a thing.

"

Forgive me

I know I’m no angel

My body pressed up to your

Burning with unforgiving lust

                Tainted with your hate

I’ll speak cold words to you

They will bite with wrath of an icicle tongue

But in all the indulgence everyone knows

                If I were a sin

I would be

                Green with

                                _ _ _ _

The thing that gets me most

Is you’ve got nothing to hold up and compare to my

                Pride

But I still lust for your pedestal

Crave all your glorified un-successes

And envy its bastardish heights

Look. I know I’m no Angel!

Just some demonic bottom feeding fiend

But in all the greed

I’ll be plucking doves feathers

So I can fly to your heights

But this time the jokes on me

                                           I’m afraid of heights

Quit looking down on your public

They adore you so heavily

You command them so gingerly

While I set sloth in the background

Writhing at your own eyes

I guess maybe I lost myself because

Somewhere along the lines

While you were busy basking in your ghastly gluttony

Something in your demeanor turned these blue eyes of mine

            Green.
