Enamored Decent

Sometimes I think I fall a little too easily. =)

I’ve never fallen so fast

And if I’m being honest the speed kind of scares me

I think it was the roller coasters

We spent our time riding

Where I know if he could grab my hand

Through the straps that held us in place as we hurdled over the edge

Going fast

Down

                Down

                                Down

He would have

 

But regardless of what started this

Downward hurdle

My stomach has been caught in my ears

My eyes are shut tightly

And my heart beats like moth wings

           Headed straight for an open flame

 

I know it’s all the adrenaline in my blood stream

But I can’t help but feel like

Maybe

Just maybe

I love him

 

He has these eyes

They’re the blue saltwater

That runs through my veins

They burn into my body

                                Giving me a fever

Letting my toes and fingers tingle

           Pins and needles

 

He says he’s not water

In fact he claims he’s no good at dealing with water

It slips too easily through his fingers

                He likes to hold onto things

But his eyes tell me a different story

 

I spend a lot of time descending to the bottom of oceans

Usually in the form of eyes

And I’ll tell you his eyes are some of the wateriest I’ve ever seen

                I could live in his eyes
