LIFE

LIFE

A Chapter by Kerry Cochran

LIFE

The truth hurts but people really don’t understand,
That the liars of the world have the upper hand.

We teach our children to be honest and true.
We sing songs, and play games and still feel blue.

Our community leaders lie, cheat & steal
The gang members snitch and some even kill.

The police are supposed to protect and serve
Come to you with an attitude “Oh what nerve”.

In life there are many faces some are true, and some are not.
You can’t trust your attorney because they’ll railroad you
And put you on the spot.

People want respect, but forget you have to give it
to get it, if you earn it, you deserve it.

In my life education is the key to a multitude of things.
Ignorance is a disease for the prison door that swings.

Wake up world can you hear me?
Try to live to have life, but those without common sense
Your life will have no meaning and you’ll never understand how to be_________.

The rules are there to follow,
But your ignorance you surely will swallow.

Pick up a book, do an honorable deed from the heart,
And your life will change, and then you won’t have to be at the end of the line,
But the leader of a new generation of change in life.

So true! This is very inspirational! many people can relate...and if people decided to change their lifes for the better...our communities would be so much safer. Kids should grow up..get their education then come back and help build up the place where they come from. (specifically urban areas)

Great work =)
