Floodgate

Floodgate

A Poem by Kes

I'm disappearing, into the leering and sneering.

I always thought I was something, but maybe it's nothing.

Welcome everybody,

this is my home.

A sanctuary

for every soul that's felt alone.

Welcome, everybody,

This is my home.

A dumping ground

for every b***h and every hoe.

Close your eyes.

It's changing.

It's changing.

Close your eyes.

We're aging.

We're aging.

Open...

I'm disappearing, into the jeering and fearing.

I always thought you were something. Baby, you're nothing.

Welcome, everybody,

This is my heart.

Always busy pumping,

For all the hearts love can't start.

Welcome, everybody,

This is my heart.

Something to prod,

For every w***e and every tart.

Close your eyes.

It's changing.

It's changing.

Close your eyes.

We're aging.

We're aging.

Open...

Open

your

eyes.

It's never too late to make a date with fate.

It's never too late to take the bait. Open the floodgates.

Something can't be stopped. Aging is one of them. I like the flow of thoughts and the desire of this poem. The ending made this poem complete.
"It's never too late to make a date with fate.
It's never too late to take the bait. Open the floodgates."
Thank you for sharing the outstanding poem.

I never believed in any darker side of us! The dark we feel is a temporary state of mind! Minute you have what you ever dreamed, a smile answers it all. We are always searching for an end, unsatisfied with whatever we make, mind striving for higher and higher. This is an illusion, mind is not striving for higher gains it's actually in search of an end. Think ... think about it :-) Yes and we do grow old but subsequently as you grow there are many things changing around you. Do you really feel we need to work on our end?

My favorite line in this is: "It's never too late" mainly because no matter what, it is never too late for someone to make a different step. Into a new direction. To not to give up and that we still have time to make up for. It's never too late for us to bring ourselves up from sorrow and trade it with happiness. Though some may have trouble finding it through the darkness, it is still possible for them to find some joy in their lives. No matter how bad things may get nowadays, we can always find a light at the end of the darkest tunnel.

Wow this is powerful.
"It's never too late to make a date with fate.
It's never too late to take the bait. Open the floodgates."
Great ending lines. :)

I agree with Leighton.
That repeating part is simply amazing.

The entire poem flows perfectly.
The emotion is so profound.
Great work.

I like that repeating part:
"Close your eyes.
It's changing.
It's changing.
Close your eyes.
We're aging.
We're aging."

This is very deep, powerful and kind a dark, painful, frustrating, rush, hopeless.. but i like it! Emotions flows in it..
Amazing!
Thanks for sharing..Keep it up! :D
