The Lake

The Lake

A Poem by Twilight

Sometimes in life,

I have to say

That I feel,

I'm losing my way

Moral dilemmas,

Such acapellas,

To my daily life,

Are a real strife

Socialisng,

Can be so dull,

Unless of course,

You overflow,

With beauteous words to bestow

Popularity and work,

Go hand in hand,

To bring you wealth,

In the world of men

But to what purpose,

I often wonder,

Is traditional status,

To the humble worker?

Sunk beneath the lake of life,

Without success,

Is there a point,

Upon which,

You will anoint

Some new goal

For the soul?

The best option,

I'm sad to say,

Is that hedonism,

Is here to stay

What greater pleasure,

Is beyond measure,

Than real love,

And surely that,

Is a blessed treasure?

its sad to know that hedonism will never fade away.. we all know this and at times even approve of it, but we jus dont wanna admit that hedonism is not really the way to be! lovely n deep write.....
