A Poem by Kevin Anthony

Gone are the days of Mercy,

Of Forgiveness.

In their stead stays the

pulsating heart of dissention -

walloping and lubbing and

spreading slowly its disgusting blood

Everywhere.

Like a filthy growth, it sequesters.

Like Poe's yarn, it persists.

Unlike... no one cares.

But why?

It's a tell-tale sign of something sinister.

We will soon see it soon enough.

Okay. So far I've read this poem and one other of yours. Both come across as from a voice of another time - somehow marked, yet timeless and natural. I really enjoyed them both very much, as well as your eclectic nature (from Poe to T.S. Eliot). I feel all this is expressive of a quick and broad mind, if not a kindred spirit. Interesting. Thank you.

Very good.

as soon the words of the first two parts got into my mind(Gone are the days of Mercy,
Of Forgiveness.) I instantly thought of Christianity. I dunno if that's right or wrong but if it is right then the last part is a good contrast! good poem :)

"The Tell-Tale Heart..." I see it well enough (So why will you say that I am mad...?"
