Deaths and devils dine

Deaths and devils dine

A Poem by Kiari Sabon

I don’t wanna die, can you save me from this life of mine?

To dine with the devil is what I see for me.

So I beg thee come save me.

To dine and die is not where I want to be.

So come save me.

I feel deaths shadow and the devils lingering mind.

So I beg of thee come save me.

The hollowed crypt beckons me, and the table I see.

So come save me.

The bony fingers upon my flesh take me to the devils bed where I may forever rest.

So I beg of thee come save me……..

A plea for salvation as though there is no choice? I think this is very well constructed and underneath there is running a current of hopelessness. It makes me feel uneasy, because I always want to believe there is hope.

Please don't take that to mean I did not like your work. I think it's well done, and I don't think I have to like the subject of a poem to recognize that. :)

very dark and gothic. it's like being in a nightmare you can't wake up from. i can understand the fear of a bleak death. perhaps it's not so bad to dine with the devil...'the devil is a gentleman' after all.
