Under the Bodhi tree

Under the Bodhi tree

A Poem by Andy Leavy
"

The Quest for inner peace

"
Under the Bodhi tree
I sit and ponder,
under the Bodhi tree
I let my mind wander.

Under the Bodhi tree
I leave the human race,
under the Bodhi tree
I join time and space.

Under the Bodhi tree
I forget my problems,
under the Bodhi tree
Inner peace blossoms.

Under the Bodhi tree
I leave my body behind,
under the Bodhi tree
I'm just left with my mind.

Under the Bodhi tree
I consider the bad with the good,
under the Bodhi tree
I don't feel misunderstood.

Under the Bodhi tree
I'm in my own dome,
under the Bodhi tree
I feel like I'm home.

Author's Note

Andy Leavy
A simple poem I threw together. I have been trying to meditate recently to help me with some of my problems. I know the Bodhi tree is extremely important to Buddhists and many spiritual people so that is why I choose it as the primary theme of the poem.

This was a pleasant read and there are a lot of things about this poem that really work. It has a really nice tone to it that you keep consistent throughout and it shows that you thought about sound and how the poem should flow to complement sound. You mention in your Author's Note that the Bodhi tree has religious significance, which I was unaware of. I think it could be really interesting if you explore this religious side of the Bodhi tree and talk about its impact and significance to you in that way. All in all, a good read. I hope this review was helpful!
