Shuddering

Shuddering

A Poem by M.Kilani

Thick air, tangible silence
Flicks of dust getting warmer
Shuddering, forcing a breath in
As breathing became violence

Out of time and space
He seeks a trace
Of an old perfume
Of a cold perfume

That adds beauty to the soft skin
Skin of a ghost well known
The old companion of night and dawn
"Welcome mortal to the world of no sin"

Aching head, empty bed
Stains of coffee and tar
A scent of cheap cigar
And a heart that is almost dead

Ticks the clock wrong
Breaking the sounds of the heartbeat
Time, only time we can't defeat
As the sighs have turned into a song

Where did we go wrong
Why now we fit but don't belong
It takes us now to what end
No more a lover no longer a friend

Is this the end of what had no start
The pain of toothache in a heart
Words we twist and bend
Nobel feelings we defend

All have went in vain
All of joy and pain
In a cold room on a steal chair
No longer this place is haven

A sad journey in the poem. Sometime two people separate and can't find the place they started. I like the flow of description leading to the lonely ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
