Keeping Scores

Keeping Scores

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

we’re all just here

taring chunks out of each other

to see who’ll bleed the most

when all we really want

is to be stitched back up

and held

and sleep under the stars

and laugh

while we trace each others scars

but few will admit it in fear of looking

weak.

i see two people....as i have experienced this...both are scarred...both are scared, both want not to admit the past is still close behind...but each can sense that in the other...and somehow, they try to stitch each other up...while at the same time, trying not to bleed too much.

well done.

The untamed ego will be the end of many of us, and we don't even realize it. In my opinion, the major thing shielding the world from true peace and calm. This was a very fine, straightforward, and honest write that could sober most of us.

Great job, Kirsty. :)

Pride is that thing that goes before a fall isn't it? There are times when I see this in others just through observation. I don't even have to know them.

Nice writing Kirsty. :)
