Alignment

Alignment

A Poem by Kaliope

A two-bit sale, a toothless failure

Or a messy savior, dressed in favor

Mechanical satire, menial sad liar

Or life of the fire

People want both sides, wanna wear both hides

Kinda don’t wanna try to hide behind lies

Why does it take years to understand

Advice you’ve heard your whole life

Pretend to know in full pretense

Then one day it makes sense

Be you or don’t be

Can’t people please and align with me

Appeasing makes me sick

Don’t be the wick to somebody else’s light

Don’t follow the template to somebody else’s life

Try you might but it’ll end hollow

You won’t know how far you’ll go
