My Garden of Memories

My Garden of Memories

A Poem by Kitty
"

This is my story of my little girl. I had to give her up when I was only 2 months pregnant. But I still miss her...

"

In the cockles of my mind

I see you standing there,

With dirt on your hands

And leaves in your hair.

I smile at you

As you run around the yard.

I call out a warning,

“Sam, don’t go too far”.

You come running back to me

And jump onto my lap.

I wrap my arms around you

And you hug me back.

I lay you down on the blanket

And tickle your little tummy.

You giggle uncontrollably –

I guess to you everything is funny.

You run into the garden

And pick me a pretty rose.

You want me to smell it,

So you stick it under my nose.

I wish that there was no end

To my time with you.

There’s still so much to learn,

So much we have to do.

But as the sun sets,

It is the end of our time.

But we’ll always be together

In the cockles of my mind.

So beautiful... Your heart of love shines through each line and phrase. Just the sweetest thoughts; deeply precious...just like you...

Good evening Josie,

Indeed you have triggered an emotional intrigue that most do not feel while engaged in a write such as this. I have two and had two others (not mine, but all the same). Losing a child, no matter the length of time we bonded, no matter the distance that separated us... is still losing a child.

To me, I understand, for she was my little girl - even if no other right held me and her together. I understand/empathize with your words. They touch, they flow, and they draw tears from my heart. I applaud your courage and strength.

Beautifully written.

Thank you for sending this to me, I sit, read, remember, weep and smile...

Admiration,

Candi~ Writer Of Life
