You're Just a Ghost

You're Just a Ghost

A Poem by Kitty

You swore you would be there for me

Every step of the way,

That you would hold my hand

And guide me through these hard times.

Oh, how I believed every lie,

Every empty promise,

And all because I loved you.

Well, no more.

This is where the pain ends.

No more torture.

No more lies.

No more feelings of regret

That I didn’t see the truth sooner.

All that’s left is me,

Covered in specks of your blood.

You have hurt me for the final time.

It’s funny how the tables turn,

Don’t you think?

I was always the one crying,

Begging for you to love me,

And now…

Now you were the one crying,

Begging for your life.

Oh what a twist this life sometimes has.

Isn’t beautiful?

No more pain!

No more tears!

No more of your lies

And empty promises.

Now, you’re just a ghost,

And you can’t hurt me anymore!

Such pain and heartache... So good to find release... Your words so vividly convey the torturous loss of love moving on to memories; like ghosts they haunt but cannot touch the living. Powerful my friend!

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
