Smash the MirrorsA Poem by KittyI am my own worst enemyReflections stare back at me From the dimly lit mirror. Those faces are not my own, Are they? They couldn’t be? In front me stands All those I hate. She, who I would kill, Stand before me, Staring back. He, whom I cannot stand, Laughs at my confusion. It, that which I fear, Stands menacingly in front of me. It cannot be! Are these all part of myself? Can these people I hate, All be a piece within me? Oh, God, this cannot be! Please, smash the mirrors; Send the shards flying! I don’t want to face me If this is what I have become. I beg of you, Crack the glass; Destroy the reflections. Please, I can’t look at myself, Because it would seem, I am my own worst enemy.
