Breakthrough

Breakthrough

A Poem by K-mo

I've learned that people don't really care as much as they let on, not because they want to
but because they don't want to hurt you. And in the world today, it isn't hard to know why.
Isn't it sad, that we hurt one another more than we show love and true concern. Isn't there
more we could do for one another than to tear a person down, than to build them up. This
world is already messed up so why can't we just try to live united than to live divided. I just
want to wake up and know that someone out there wants me there, to walk the world and
take it on with me.
In a world where people say they love so easily, but are too afraid to show it, why can't
we actually know it's true. Because the lack of truth that is shown, I have lost hope of what
I once thought I had known. I want what is real, not something from a movie reel. I want something
that makes my heart collide, collide violently inside of my chest. This may not seem logical, but it's a
dream at best, and what gets me up in the morning.
I've learned that people don't really care as much as they let on, not because they want to
but because they don't want to hurt you. And in the world today, it isn't hard to know why
It makes me cry a little inside to know that some people can go a lifetime living all alone, not
because they want to, but because they fear what is inside, this is something real. A pain we
all go through and live through. I want to have a breakthrough, I want see things in a different
light. I want to be remembered for something great, but in this world it might be too soon or
too late.
