Seasons of Life

Seasons of Life

A Poem by K-mo

The longer we wait the sooner our dreams will die
The time flies quicker and our ambitions in turn collide

You once saw light in these eyes of mine, but as the seasons
it began to change and in due time fade, now the light flickers
and pain is all that can be sensed

Why is it that the people who are broken are said to be weak?
When those are the ones who have the most to give, those
who want more reason to live

When we were young, it all seemed so easy
the journey once so entising can be quite frightening
and you can feel the icy chill run down your spine
whenever someone utters you will be fine

I once found comfort in your familiar face, but now distance has
put the thought of you behind me, what once seemed safe
seems dangerous

You once saw light in these eyes of mine, but as the seasons
it began to change and in due time fade, now the light flickers
and pain is all that can be sensed

Your words are honest and true.
"You once saw light in these eyes of mine, but as the seasons
it began to change and in due time fade, now the light flickers
and pain is all that can be sensed"
With the new season, we learn darkness, we learn light and we go forward. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
