Kissing Pages [God Bless The Broken Girl]

Kissing Pages [God Bless The Broken Girl]

A Poem by Emunah June.
"

God bless the broken girl who found her way after all.

"

There's a mirror for every wall one stares at nowadays.

For everytime you pause to take a breath

There are fingers, pointing

Eyes, glowing

Teeth, sharpened

With gleaming flesh stuck in their gums

And this is where my admiration comes in.

God bless the broken girl

Who bled on the concrete, copaface and all

Spitting acid on the diamond

Cursing the name of the blood

God bless the broken girl

Who sat alone in the dark

Pondering various tastes left in her mouth

A spiritual quest on the fingertips of others

God bless the broken girl

Who had to deal with me

And all my shortcomings, all my flaws and failures

Who kissed the man she adored

Who left her in a bathroom stall

With no one but her tears for sorrowful company

And God bless the broken girl

Who somehow, some way

Stumbled along the side of the road

And found her missing pieces

Embedded in Your glorious pages

Now she's kissing pages

Finding herself, finding others

Saving those once deemed unsaveable

At Your feet

I've never seen anyone so happy

You, my God

Are the sweetest glory bestowed upon us all

Forgive me for my sins

As You have already done

Help me guide others to the warm glow of Your light

Help the broken girl

Teach me how to kiss pages

Just like she does

For I've done her wrong, and yet somehow she's forgiven me

She's spoken her sins

She's found peace in Your arms

Just as I have done

But like her

I want to kiss pages

I want to achieve that unlimited happiness

That gleams in those once shattered eyes

Author's Note

Emunah June.
I recently came in contact with an old friend whom I hadn't spoken to in the past 2 or 3 years. When I had left her, she was a broken mess who had no idea what would become of her. Now, we she speaks, all she sings is praises to God and thanks Him for the constant blessings he bestowed upon her nd her loved ones. It's a sight that truly brings tears to the eyes. I've wept with tears of joy at her growth and light. She's an incredible young lady who now sees the same thing I have all this time: that she has alot going for her and she has no time for sadness.

If you're reading this (and you know who you are), GOD BLESS YOU. I cannot express the ultimate joy you have brought me in your finding of Christ. I'm so very happy you've become saved, and I'm so happy YOU'RE happy. You area model example to the rest of us, and even if we lose contact again in the future, God bless you. Bless you and everything you ever do to glorify Him and all His might. You have inspired me to...well, kiss pages! :)

This... Is so beautiful it made me cry.
I too wish to return to that very time where I once kissed the pages God has so delicately written, but alas, I do not know the way back just yet.
I also thought it was very sweet of you to write this to your friend.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem! ^^

Wow, it turns from dark brokenness to amazing wholeness and peace... Like your friend, I assume? Great job on this!

Thank you so much ;-;
This was so lovely. I just love the story behind it and the theme of "kissing pages"; it's wonderful. Sheds a light on the hopefulness God provides, even in the desperate times people around us face, and even in our own shortcomings. God is so merciful and great in all His ways that He works things out, even through our own choices. My favorite line:

"And found her missing pieces
Embedded in Your glorious pages."

We may feel empty, broken, inadequate, insecure, unworthy, but in Him is where we find ourselves and discover our original identity. And in His love story to us is where we read about His grace and ultimate compassion for us.

Thank you. Touching lives one person to the next.
