Zero Missed Calls

Zero Missed Calls

A Poem by Emunah June.

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

Why haven't we spoken recently?

Is something wrong?

Did I do something?

You don't like talking to me

"It's cuz your always gone" you say

But I've been home for awhile now

It's something else

So why won't you tell me?

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

It's been two days now

Why haven't we spoken yet?

I bet you out somewhere with your family

That has to be it, right?

Right?

You'd never ignore me would you?

Never put me second, would you?

....would you?

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

Three days and still not a word is said

I can't call YOU, I'm too scared

Besides, you'll call soon

I just have to wait a little longer

And that's fine with me

Because I know you'd never forget me

Right?

....right?

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

Four days and still my phone is silent

I don't want to wait, I'm getting impatient

My fists are cletched, my eyes are soaked

I hang my head, my heart racing wildly

Is there something I'm not getting?

Something you're not telling me?

The world is spinning too fast

It's either vertigo or confusion

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

Five days! Five days of your silence!

How much longer are we gonna spin?

It's a burden, it's a wet choice of mine

I sit on my bed and stare blankly at my cell

Why haven't you called me yet?

I don't want to be like...them

I'm hanging on a line

With no one above me

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

Six times the charm

Or wait, wasn't it three?

I don't know anymore, my head isn't in the right place

My phone has battle scars now

I've been rubbing against it's numbers axiously

Waiting for your call

Waiting for your voice

Or was I? I can't seem to remember

Finally the wait is too long

And I throw my phone in a drawer

This hurts to much, to be kept waiting like this

I'm just about to walk away when I hear it

A soft buzz

I see it's my phone, and I answer it

It's you! It's you!!

We talk, then you say "Call you tomorrow."

Tomorrow rolls around

And so do the days after that

I bite my lip and cry my tears

Because everytime I look

My phone says nothing

But the same

Five

Words

YOU HAVE: 0 MISSED CALLS

This reminds me of something sweet but mostly bitter that I can relate to. This is so sad. Waiting for someone to miss you is hard and painfully. Well done.

This reminds me so much of "Why Don't You Call Me Yet?" by Rin Kagamine.
Truly sorrowful and packed with emotion; I loved it. If you ever are in need of someone to talk to, just message me. I'd be more than happy to listen and help however I can.
Very beautiful write.
