[Chapter Three]A Chapter by Koda Demitri Tucker-Elric
Chapter Written By: Me
Before heading to the supermarket, Edward decided to take a detour and head to a nearby breakfast place as a way of saying thank you to Ichigo.
"This place has the best waffles," he commented, bringing him to a booth in the corner and passing him a menu. Ichigo studied it, almost as if it was a foreign object before cracking it open and seeing what was available. "I thought you were on your way to go shopping," Ichigo said. Edward shrugged. "Meh, it was only for a carton of orange juice. I'll still have enough to go get it after we eat. Besides, I owe ya one."
"Naww, I just do what's right," Ichigo said, waving off his thanks as if it was nothing.
Soon enough a gorgeous waitress came over, her face glowing and her smile genuine. When she saw Ed, her eyes lit up. "Well I'll be darned, Edward! Long time no see!" she said, laughing. Ed smiled. "Hey Ayumi!" he said, "What's happening?"
She grinned. "Aww well yknow, the usual." She pointed to Ichigo. "Who's your friend here?" she asked. Ed sighed. "This is Ichigo. He got me outta a tight spot awhile ago," he said as Ayumi and Ichigo shook hands. "You've always needed that extra push, huh?" she said, and Ed laughed it off.
"Anyhow, you two ready to order?"
"We just got here," Ed whined, and Ichigo shrugged. "Give us a few minutes."
"Alright," she said, putting a pen behind her ear and making her way to the next table. Ichigo laughed. "Girlfriend?" he asked Ed, and Ed laughed. "Close, she's my brother's fiance. Although they haven't been getting along very well recently, so I haven't seen her around much." He leaned forward. "She's nice though, aint she?"
Ichigo smirked. "Sure," he said, looking back to his menu. The two remained quiet for a few minutes before Ed slapped his menu down. "Y'know, I've never seen any guy brush Ayumi off so easy."
"Don't get me wrong, I don't like her like that either, but ya gotta admit she's pretty hot."
"Oh uh...yeah sure."
Ed leaned back and raised an eyebrow. "What's your angle?" he laughed. Ichigo sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "I've got a girlfriend already."
"Ahh, I see. Tied down are you?"
"Not tied down. More like..careful."
Ed laughed. "Wow, she must really got ya whipped if you're even too scared to LOOK at other women!" he bellowed, and Ichigo sighed in frustration.
"Easy buddy. I don't like anyone disrepecting the lady."
"Right right, sorry."
"Don't you have a girlfriend?"
Ed scoffed. "Pfft, yeah right. I don't think so."
It was awhile before any of them talked. "You were in a bad part of the neighborhood, Ed. What in the world made you go over there, anyway?" Ed sighed. "I told you, I was getting orange juice. And besides, I could ask you the same thing."
Ichigo coughed as he flipped a page in his menu. "I was actually going to meet up with my girlfriend. She lives outta town, and she was stopping by for a visit." His eyes grew sad. "I just hope she's alright..."
"Well you see--"
Before he could finish, the restaurant doors opened and two women walked in. One was absolutely adorable, with shocking blue eyes and long brown hair, and the other was incredibly attractive with piercing black eyes. Edward smiled and was tempted to say something, but he didn't need to. The black-eyed girl came over to the table almost immedietly. Ichigo stood up.
"Amaya!" he cried, hugging her close. He could tell that she'd been crying, so he whispered words of love in her ears to have her calm down. Ed sighed. Ohhhhkay, this got awkward really fast.
Amaya's friend remained distant, her face bright red and her lips in a straight line. Ed thought she looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place why. Instead, he motioned for her to come over, after which she promptly shook her head "no."
"Amaya, are you alright?" Ichigo asked. Amaya said nothing as she cradled against Ichigo's chest.
"Amaya? Are you--"
Amaya pushed him back. "What do you think, genius?! Where were you?? I was waiting for you all that time to come and get me, and you never showed!"
Ed muffled a giggle in his napkin as Ichigo stood completely dumbfounded.
"Well you what?! Thought'd it be funny to abandon me in a town where I'd easily get lost?! Hmm? Answer me Ichigo!"
Before he could, Amaya slapped his face so hard that the whole restaurant turned to look. Ed whistled a sound of embarrasment before pretending to be interested in his menu. "Not fast enough!" Then her eyes grew soft as she took his hand. "Well, Im just glad you're here now."
Edward felt his expression drop. Did anyone catch that? What just happened?
Ichigo looked over Amaya's shoulder. "Sorry, I forgot to mention she's insane," he laughed, but then Amaya's expression turned sour. "Do you really think that?" she asked, her voice about to break. "Oh uh, I--"
"I hate you, Ichigo!!" she screamed, storming out of the restaurant. Everyone stared, and it wasn't long before her friend blushed, said "Excuse me," and ran after her.
All grew quiet just as Ayumi came back to the table, somehow unaware of the previous occurances. "You guys ready to order yet?"
