Nature of things

A Poem by M.a. Benjamin
"

"
How beautiful the Fire's embers are
Dashed up in the air like burning stars
Chasing specters of memory
Through sprawling fields of history
On boughs of a brand new day's embrace
Enveloped in a warmth once frozen in place
Caught up in a rush as these visions unwind
To collect them up until the coming of time

This poem makes me think of long nights beside bonfires with faithful friends. How those tiny sparks become the "specters of memory" you speak of. If only we could catch them and bring them down to illuminate the dark corners of our days. Or maybe we can as hint at in your final line.

The wording is so descriptive that it takes a reader directly into the scene.

Just beautiful! Complex yet retuned to simple understanding. Love it.

"On boughs of a brand new day's embrace"- nice image, I see the use of bough a lot in poetry...hmm interesting.

Complexity at it's best but yet simplified. Cherish - another feeling I picked up. This is a short poem full of descriptive language and it carries the reader to see the beauty of life.

Timeless and beautifully written;))

What I love about this is that it's almost as though you captured a quick, very brief memory and just colored in beautiful words. It almost feels like it's active and burning because of your word choices. Fully enthralled. :)

Quintessential.
What more can I say?

Don't know why. But I see a black and white photo of a western frontier. Where Indians/cowboys are camping with smoldered fires. That's the powerful thing about poetry.
liked this very much!!!!!!

Nice piece for a cool fall day! I want to roast some smores!
Closer inspection shows some real depth here too. History is like the ashes in our fire pits. Today is about to be history too... hum. Making me think. Like it.
