You

You

A Poem by Kris Jansen

Open your arms, and I will open mine.
When I hold you, when I feel you,
I can't help but to surrender.

I relinquish all of my energy into your heart.
Your warmth, your embrace, it stuns me.
And I cannot be more thankful, because you accept it.
You accept me.

And what am I?
I am nothing more than a single cell.
Nothing more than a human stealing air from another.
But not to you.
To you, I am meaningful.
So again, I thank you.

You are so incredibly, and unconditionally, beautiful.
Your eyes, they show your heart, your honesty, and your soul.
And when I look into them, when I stare into them,
I am instantaneously lost by the purity of their sapphire core.

So again, I surrender.
You can have me, all of me,
Because I trust you with every beat of my heart that is melting just for you.

Can you hear it?
Can you feel it the way I feel yours?
And if you do, please, don't hold back.
Place my heart next to yours and listen to our synchronizing tone blending together.
Blending into one graceful yet powering lullaby.

I fall asleep just thinking of it,
And I stay asleep dreaming of it.
So let my heart into yours, and you will see,
Just how wonderful our lives can be.
