Writer's Block

Writer's Block

A Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed
"

I was having writer's block. So I wrote about it.

"

Inspirations died,

Sailed to the other side,

Soul in a state of loneliness.

A poet without a pen.

Thoughts that died away,

Ideas that didn’t stay,

Heart in a heated haze.

A pen without ink.

Inner voice in silence,

Resisting the push of violence,

Creation out of destruction.

Ink without paper.

Erupt a volcanic opus,

To burn my writing hand.

But hope, hope, hope,

That a grain of sand,

May settle on my shell,

Bid its freedom farewell.

So that I may,

Produce pearls of poetry

Sit me down in silence,

Comb the hairs on my skin.

Weave my body into letters,

To spell the missing words within.

Call forth my pain,

Awaken Kristan A. Hayne,

Are they enough?

Set them free.

Inspire me.

The indecisiveness of the rhyming scheme is supposed to symbolize the confusion of a writer with writer's block.

sure thing
This is quite an original piece. We all experience it, but i doubt most of us think of writing about it. Fabulous comparisons and great flow.

thanks a lot. im glad u enjoyed it.
I feel most of us have faced this at some point in the journey as a writer..
These lines were excellent to depict the plight of a passionate writer struck up with a mental block:
"A poet without a pen" - Like a bird with broken wings
"A pen without ink" -Like a good singer struck with a bad throat
"Ink without paper"- Like a comedian that's got no audience
Hope you get motivated soon and come up with great pieces as this :)
