I Need You

I Need You

A Poem by Kumala
"

Another poem that I wrote when I was a teenager for my first love, or what I thought was love.

"

I Need You.

Days go by

Nights stay long

My love for you still stays strong

There’s times when we’re not together

My love for you will last forever

When we’re not beside each other

I feel so alone

For I need you here

To hold me tight

To treat me right

I hate having to be alone.

Was this love or dependency - was the love really just avoidance of being alone - I think the answer's there in the line - '...to treat me right...' - it was love.

I see you're as comfortable with rhymes as with free verse - impressive Kumala. Well done.

A very lovely review which is very much appreciated. Thank you.
I think this reflects a common feeling that's inescapable when we're in love. There's a feeling you need to get to them now but they're not there.

Thank you for reading.
I really like the simplicity of this poem, and I also really like how your rhymes sounded subtle and natural. A great poem overall!!!

Thank you, sometimes I think its better to keep it simple, words can get lost and confused in detail.. read more

When expressing emotion, simple is best. Conveying a story, is quite another matter.
