The sound of the sea

The sound of the sea

A Poem by poddar kushal

The sound of the sea

The wooden bridge comes alight

into a sea of black and white.

Someone is coming. Softly.

She mops her eyes. Straightens her stance.

A pair of feet comes in rhythmic moves.

She suddenly knows, without turning,

the stranger is the one. The one.

A whimsical wave crushes on the pier,

spraying her all over.

Drops of salt on her hair,

drops of mist from her face.

Falling one by one in a slow motion.

She gathers them on her palm.

The message in a bottle,

she has been waiting for

never comes.

The foot steps of a stranger …

She now faces the stranger,

the writer of the message dreamed of.

She mumbles” Dad!”

Years of long lost emotions erode.

A coarse hand of a person

Who has been absent in

her story for so long,

touches her.

Is she a prostitute? I'm sorry, but I can't figure it out and I'm eager to know :)
