Sometimes, things call for the Caps Lock button to take a rest.

 Dear My Darling Gabby,

         I'm writing just to say

How I've come to miss you

Each & every single day.

 

You were my baby, darling,

I'd cared for you so long,

We'd sit out on the porch

And you'd purr your kitty song.

 

I'll never forget that day

I saw you, lying in the street.

A deaf'ning silence filled the air

I ran to you; I didn't care

About cars, or trucks, or anything

Only you, my sweet, precious thing.

 

My beautiful, calico, baby girl

Taken for granted,

Destroyed by the world

& the lifeless machines

in which we place our trust.

 

I love you, my darling dearest,

I love you, my pet,

Don't ever let me leave your thoughts,

Promise me you won't forget-

I can promise you the same

Because you're one thing I don't regret.

 

Goodbye my love,

Goodnight my peach,

I'll love you to the end.

Not only were you my beautiful cat,

You were my very best friend.

;_; I'm so sorry about Gabby. This reminded me of my Zack. I'm sure they're both happy up in that happy place cats go to in the next life. I'm not sure where Gabby is. Actually, Zack was always content just lying on any old surface that didn't break under him . . . People are vicious monsters when it comes to cars. They kill our beloveds without so much as a turn of their head, speeding along still, with the only thought of, "What am I going to make for supper tonight? I need another coffee" in their heads.

i can only imagine how much i would be hurt if my cat died. Great write. Heart peoms are the best, because they are the ones with the most emotion.
